Kipani Saarlo was born in New York, grew up across America, and now divides her time between Singapore, the West Coast of America, and Europe. Having worked professionally for many years in film and media in the US and Asia, she has returned to photography as a way of satisfying a need to seek out the curious, intimate and beautiful moments that exist in an ever increasingly divided world.

 

Her photography focuses on environmental portraits of people, places and things.

A current member of the Directors Guild of America, she holds a minor in photography from the State University of New York, and an MFA from the American Film Institute.

​

Her images can be found in private collections in the United States and Europe.
